Los Altos Center To Get Lazy Acres, Starbucks

UPDATED FRI 8:43AM | A previous version of this story indicated that Bristol Farms was owned by Albertsons parent company, Supervalu. While Bristol Farms (and its subsidiary Lazy Acres) were at one time owned by Supervalu, they have since bought the companies back from Supervalu and now operate independently.
ORIGINAL WED 12:45PM | The Los Altos Center on Bellflower Blvd. and Stearns St. will soon be home to the second-ever Lazy Acres Market as well as another Starbucks location. The new tenants mark another supermarket change-up for Long Beach, after the announcement last week that Supervalu, Inc. would be closing the Albertsons on Redondo Ave. and 6th St. sometime before the end of the year.
Next month, the Los Altos Center's Bristol Farms will convert into a Lazy Acres, a Santa Barbara organic grocery store that was purchased by the high end Bristol Farms chain seven years ago.
The changeover is expected to happen after a ten-day closure, with the new Lazy Acres hopefully opening November 7.
Current Bristol Farms employees say that the new location will have more of an organic emphasis and that all staff will remain at the location after the conversion is complete.
