This isn't without logic: before the LGBT community became what it is (we, after all, have openly gay politicians, openly gay performers, television shows that depict us outside of...

Screaming Silence

By Alexandra Billings

As I stood in the middle of the parking lot, I could hear the blood rushing in my ears. Pulsing. Throbbing. I’d never heard anything like it. I was twitching and rubbing my hands together and there was a fear in me that shook me to my core. The sun...

This isn't without logic: before the LGBT community became what it is (we, after all, have openly gay politicians, openly gay performers, television shows that depict us outside of steretypes, films dedicated to LGBT issues...), it was corporate suicide to openly endorse what was widely seen as a disease-spreading, drug-addicted, morally-inept group of outsiders.

Screaming Silence

As I stood in the middle of the parking lot, I could hear the blood rushing in my ears. Pulsing. Throbbing. I’d never heard anything like it. I was twitching and rubbing my hands together and there was a fear in me that shook me to my core. The sun was white hot, and even though I was bare foot, my feet were sweating and itchy.
