7:15pm | In honor of LGBT Pride Month, Artful Thinking's "Out at the Movies" is proud to present a screening of the film Making the Boys at the Art Theatre on Thursday, June 23.

Here's a summary from the Tribeca Film Institute:

Before Proposition 8, Milk or "Will &

Grace," before the AIDS epidemic, gay pride parades or the Stonewall Uprising,
The Boys in the Band changed everything. Making the Boys explores the drama, struggle and enduring legacy of the first-ever gay play and subsequent Hollywood movie to successfully reach a mainstream audience.
Beloved by some for breaking new ground, and condemned by others for reinforcing gay stereotypes, The Boys in the Band sparked heated controversy that still exists four decades later.
The screening begins at 9 p.m. at the Art Theater, 2025 E. Fourth St.

Artful Thinking is a Long Beach-based nonprofit that engages in artful activities related to educating the public about HIV/AIDS and Breast Cancer as well as providing prevention program information on these two very important health issues through community-based events. Once a month at the Art Theater, the organization hosts Out at the Movies, where for $11 at the box office or $10 in advance, you can screen films "made with a queer lens."

Also you can check all kinds of STD services, testing centers, live std counselor, treatment stories etc. Hope it helps.
