12:23pm | The Gary DeLong for Congress campaign has announced the endorsement of Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens, joining previous endorsements by former Governor George Deukmejian, US Congressman Dan Lungren, US Congressman Ed Royce, State Board of Equalization Vice-Chair Michelle Steel, Los Angeles Country Supervisor Don Knabe and the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce.

“Gary DeLong and I share the same goal of working to improve public safety in our community” said Sheriff Hutchens. “He has demonstrated a strong and unyielding commitment to public safety and law enforcement concerns along with a devotion to the welfare of law enforcement professionals. Gary is

a proven leader and we need his voice in Congress to keep our neighborhoods safe and healthy by supporting thriving businesses and good jobs.

“It is an honor to have the endorsement of the leading law enforcement professional in Orange County,” DeLong said. “Sheriff Hutchens has an outstanding reputation, both up and down the State of California as well as nationally. I am pleased she recognizes my commitment to law enforcement professionals, safe neighborhoods and the understanding that public safety should be a top priority of elected officials at all levels of government.”

I think Gary DeLong will be an excellent Congressman.

Still not impressed
And now we have two more reasons to not vote for him...

Sad day
My regard for Sandra Hutchens has just declined 83 percent.

Go Alan Go
Alan Lowenthal is the better choice and will be a wonderful Congressman.

After 6 years of suffering under DeLong, ignoring the bar problems, granting 25 booze permits, the Tot lot fiasco, the Land Swap buddy bail out gift of public funds mess, the Home Depot joke, the re zoning to turn the East side into Marina Del Rey joke, slashing Police, closing Fire Stations, making love to the 2nd +PCH team publicly and repeatedly in each and every possible position, letting Hitchcrotch bulldoze wetlands and celebrate, the latest Pay-O-La lookin' Re vote 2nd+PCH idea, and much more, no thanks DeLong.

DeLong is wrong.

Go Alan, Go ! You have earned this and are best suited to work effectively for our town in DC.

Besides, De Long O skipped over first attempting to learn the ropes of State Assembly, and Senate? No Gracias

Seal Beach Voter
Sandra Hutchens no longer has my vote for Sheriff.

Does Hutchens approve of how DeLong wanted to trash our way of life in West Orange County with the Second&PCH proposal?

Still not Impressed
"It is an honor to have the endorsement of the leading law enforcement professional in Orange County,"

Yes, unfortunately it's from the same organization that spawned Mike Carona.

No No De Long O
''Gary DeLong and I share the same goal of working to improve public safety in our community” , SO you both want to CLOSE the Academy, slash the number of officers but most importantly, create a public spectacle by fighting the POA President?
If that is working with Law Enforcement, Castro 'worked' with Washington.
Our PD can't stand this guy so let's see who his own officers endorse....it won't be De Long 'O'.

You have to love these self serving statements, they seem completely dreamed up and from fantasy land.

Up until today, based upon that read
read in OC Regsietr and LA times, the OC Sheriff-seem tp have a
good head on her shoulders.NO LONGER

Cleary she is not that bright-which
does not portend well for Orange
County as a whole.

The--oh so troubled on mamy fronts
Bacca potends an eually rough time
for LA County residents.....TOGETHER TOLLING FOR
a PERCARIOUS PUBLIC safety picture
for to much of Southern California.

Too Funny
@Go Alan

I am mad at De Long for;

''making love to the 2nd +PCH team publicly and repeatedly in each and every possible position''

Hilarious !

Too funny !

I think Gary DeLong will NEVER be an excellent Congressman.

However, if he ever wants his boy parts polished to a brilliant, sparkling, high luster, Mr Greet deserves the first wack at it.

John B. Greet
@ Brown: I respect your opinion concerning DeLong's candidacy and your right to voice it. What a pity, though, that the converse is not also true.

First wack
Heh heh.

Endorsement???
An endorsement from Sharon Hutchens doesn't seem to be much of a plus for anyone. Geez, is there any group held in lower esteem than the OC Sheriff's department? Seems like a great endorsement for Lowenthal to NOT have the OCSD endorsement.

Go Alan!

The republicans are quickly becoming irrelevant and out of touch in our modern society. Delong is no different, their mantra that lower taxes will solve the world problems is so transparent. All they want is to increase the wealth of the 1% without regard for the destruction of the 99%. We need to vote these people out of office until they start getting the message that there is more to life than the pursuit of wealth.

That Darn Gary
Another problem with ''De Long on Talk, Short on results'' is that when he loses against Alan, he will hang around LB and run for Mayor.
Then his clique will again proclaim him the 'messiah' and we will have to suffer that sad consequence.
Too bad the voters could not see through this facade and vote him out last time, oh well. Nobody turned out the vote.
Sandra Hutchens went to Wilson didn't she? And she is his neighbor isn't she ? So no big mystery on this endorsement.
These days Garundo seems to take this all as a big game, and a joke. He laughs and laughs all of the time at council, he smirks, grins, makes silly jokes.
This all is probably just a novelty and diversion to avoid boredom. His family gave him Millions so it seems to be Golfing, and Power for the guy.
He does seem dedicated to helping his friends but all of the rest of us get crumbs.
His latest attempt to re vote 2nd+PCH should be a Felony...

DocG
And here I thought that I was living and voting in Los Angeles County....
