collaborative efforts.  It is the Association's goal to continue to develop a community college culture of quality, respect and appreciation for all the students, faculty, staff and others who make LBCC what is and what it can be," said Dr. Lynn Shaw, President of the Community College Association (CCA) at LBCC. Dr. Shaw confirmed that the LB - CCA Executive Board approved the endorsement and support of Doug Otto on January 24, 2012.

In the announcement of the CHI endorsement of Mr. Otto Karen Roberts, President of LBCC Certificated Hourly Instructors (CHI), said, “Doug works hard for the students at LBCC and we appreciate his commitment and accomplishments,".  CHI represents part-time faculty at LBCC.

Otto, an attorney in private practice in Long Beach, has served two successful terms on the Board of Trustees.  During his tenure on this Board, he co-chaired the California Commission on the Future of Community Colleges and the Measure E Campaign to pass a $440 million construction bond for Long Beach City College.  Otto has numerous awards and honors, including election to the LBCC Hall of Fame and being the California State Bar Association’s Small Firm Lawyer of the Year in 2011.

I have heard only good things about Doug. AND I went to Lakewood Hi School with him. He was even a good guy back then. Good luck Doug.

I am a court interpreter who had the privilege of working with Doug Otto at the Long Beach Courthouse. Our community college is most definitely fortunate to have him.

I would question your lack of accurate facts Rich, Doug did not go Lakewood High, but Millikan, class of '66. Doug is a "good guy" however, at least you got that right.

Doug Otto is, and always has been, a class act. A scholar and a gentleman.
