Recognizing The 2009 CSULB Outstanding Graduates

Every year the administration of California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) conducts the arduous process of selecting its annual outstanding graduates. During commencement ceremonies next week there will be nine students from the campus’ seven colleges honored for their unparalleled academic achievement, dedication to the campus and community and exceptional contributions to their respective disciplines.

We are listing the nine outstanding graduates below. Congratulations to them on a job very well done. To put this into perspective, these nine students were selected out of a total of 9,000 graduates receiving degrees this year from CSULB. This is deserving of a very emphatic, Go Beach!


Sundie Zin, College of the Arts. Sundie is earning a bachelor’s of fine arts in interior design


Eyad Ali Aljubran
, College of Business Administration. Eyad is earning a bachelor’s of science degree in business administration with a concentration in human resources management.


Priscilla Miranda, College of Education. Priscilla is earning a master’s of arts degree in school counseling and a credential in pupil personnel services.


David Murakami, College of Engineering. David is earning two bachelor’s degrees – one in aerospace engineering and one in physics. David is also being recognized for achieving a minor in mathematics and computer science.


John M Valenzuela, College of Health and Human Services. John is earning a bachelor’s of arts degree in social work.


Amanda Lindsay Perry, College of Health and Human Services. Amanda is earning a bachelor’s of science degree in kinesiology-exercise science.


Whitney Leigh Donaldson, College of Liberal Arts. Whitney is earning a bachelor’s of arts degree in comparative world literature and Spanish literature and culture.


Maggie Woods, College of Liberal Arts. Maggie is earning a bachelor’s of arts degree in international studies.


Devin Forrest Reed Doud, College of Natural Science and Mathematics.  Devin is earning a bachelor’s of science degree in biochemistry.

Report Card

Long Beach plays host to a superior, nationally recognized K-12 public school system, two quality institutions of higher education and many private schools. Join Miles as he reports on educational updates and interprets policy affecting stakeholders in our vast educational structure.

 

Miles Nevin is the Marketing and Public Relations Manager at Children Today, a local organization that provides early childhood education to children experiencing homelessness. He is working on a master’s degree in public policy and administration, is a volunteer instructor at the CSULB Leadership Academy, and serves his fraternity as the Alumni Advisor. Aside from his passion for education, Miles enjoys serving his community and meeting new people in Long Beach.
