9:45am | A 55-year old man was rescued by the Long Beach Fire Department after his car violently slammed into a power pole at the corner of Del Amo Boulevard and Virginia Avenue around 11:00am on Tuesday.

Firefighters responded and needed the Jaws Of Life to free the man from his badly damaged car, which had pinned the victim inside. Firefighters freed the man in about ten minutes and he was transported to a local hospital with moderate distress.
