Knabe Offers $5K Reward After Swastika Carved In Golf Course by Ryan ZumMallen | Archive | 03.02.10 |
+ 2:00pm | After someone snuck into the Lakewood Country Club early on Sunday morning and carved a swastika in a golf course putting green, Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe could be offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the perpetrator. The carving is approximately eight feet by eight feet on the 1st Hole putting green. The damage has already been repaired and reported to the Lakewood Sheriff’s station, but Knabe will introduce his $5,000 reward to the L.A. County Board of Supervisors today for approval. “The physical damage to the golf course may be repaired already, but the lasting damage that crimes like this leave on a community can be far more devastating,” said Supervisor Knabe, in a press release. “This vandalism is unacceptable hatred.” Knabe hosts his annual Knabe Cup high school golf tournament at the Lakewood Country Club, and recently secured $5.63 million in grants for improvements to the course facilities. The grants will be used to increase storage, and improve handicap access and junior golf access. Anyone with information should contact Detective Theo Gekas of the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station at 562.623.3500. Disclosure: LBPOST.com publisher Shaun Lumachi is under contract with the Office of Supervisor Don Knabe.

CHARLIE Probably one of those UFO's again.:>) Aidin this is actually not a nazi swastika, but quite the reverse. I believe its a symbol for zen buddhism. Not that that helps, i just doubt it was a 'neo nazi' kind of thing, rather some punk kid doing it for shock value, and didnt even get it right The Most Important shot o Yes, the most important shot of the game is always .....the next one. Lets not blow this thing out of proportion. The idiot who did this did not even make a Swastika. With over 4500 employees being laid off do we give this jerk $5000 of attention, or do we use the reward funds to keep a fire fighter on board for another month? What is going to be more productive? Lets move on to the next one guys. don This is another reason Don Knabe is a great Supervisor! JR Salazar Bah. Don Knabe can't tell a Hindu swastika from a Nazi one. Way to alienate the followers of the Vedas, Vishnu and Shiva, chief. LB Harbor Although I loath what the symbol stands for, Knabe is wasting scarce public and pandering to sensational causes. CHARLIE to Aidin The Swastika was actually a Catholic Greek Cross good luck symbol that was engraved on outdoor prayer stations all over the European countryside around the 1500's; The Nazi Party adopted and started to use it as a party strength symbol which, unfortunately, became a symbol of fear during WW2... Robert The modern swastika is the reverse sun symbol of the Summerians osoteric society. Hitler revesered the symbol, symbol then stood for the opposite of light. Darkness. Hilter was using the familar osoteric symbol to mislead the masses. Education Fail http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika Yeah, the reward money should be used to for schools or something more important. If this was true hate propaganda, it would at least be the correct direction for that. Is he up for an election soon? david its a symbol that means peace. GrumpyGuy Yougottabekiddingme! First Y'all give the punk all the ink he could ever hope for, then Knabe's going to blow $5K of tax payer money to nab him? What a waste! If poloticians didn't have boogey men to rant against, they'd have to invent them. Hmmm... so where were you on the night in question Mr. Knabe? Also... $5.63 million in grants for a friggin golf course?!?! How about putting that money to something people NEED? Paul Don said,"This is another reason Don Knabe is a great Supervisor!" He is as far left as one can go and still he claims to be a Republican. Don, he is great at fooling you! BTW do you work for him?
