Donna Reckseen How will the City of Long Beach be recognizing the annual'Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day' on March 30? (The Governor joined Assemblymember Paul Cook at the Twentynine Palms Marine Base to sign AB 717 which established that day) Joe Ganem Mayor, the city has spent millions on creating a viable and vibrant downtown. I want to know what the plan is to handle homeless issues that make DT plans less attractive to investors and consumers? Mike Wilson I am disappointed that you have done so little with regards to sex offender clustering in my neighborhood. Even though you drive right by one of the main sex offender clown houses on your way to City Hall, you never once gotten out of your car to see what all the worry was about. In four years as president of the Alamitos Beach Neighborhood Association I called your office exactly ONE time to ask for your help. While someone from your office did return my call later that day, YOU never made the time to call me or to walk my neighborhood to see the damage for yourself. From the time of my call (over one year ago) to this day, you HAVE made time to attend many social functions and business openings, but you have no time apparently for Alamitos Beach. We here in Alamitos Beach would certainly be encouraged to see our mayor take an interest in our struggles with greedy landlords and lazy Correction officials. Can someone inform Suja that her job is at stake come the next election if this problem is not dealt with. DoItAlready Sink the breakwater! RolPacificCourt The homeless seem to take refuge around Lincoln Park next to the City Hall. This would see to hamper the vitalizaation efforts. On weekends, many groups drop off food and clothing and causes a homeless magnet for the area. They should be directed to the proper shelter, not Lincoln Park. What is being done to prevent this growth of homelessness and food/clothing distribution? Mary Do you intend to debate mayoral candidate Stevie Merino? It would seem you don't take her seriously. ABRes Mary, nobody takes her seriously because she is not qualified yet. I don't want someone with so little experience running a large city.
