The Ball-Nogues Studio is an award winning archetectural firm, and one of 16 artists/groups presenting work at Long Beach Exposed, which opens at the Expo Building in Bixby Knolls this Friday evening at 7 PM.

Their work has been seen by thousands, at Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, and as far afield as Italy and Austria. Their work

is rooted in the physical, but previsualization takes place virtually and, with the invention of new hardware, they've extended the boundaries of what's possible.

Gaston Nogues took some time away from the installation process to talk about the work, the studio, and how the processes they use evolved.

Here are a few images of the installed work:

The Expo Building is located at 4321 Atlantic Avenue, and the opening reception is taking place tomorrow, Friday, October 9th, from 7 - 10 PM.

In case you missed it, read the interview with Long Beach Exposed co-curator, Erin Harkey.

Great interview Sander! The opening on Friday evening promises to be an exciting introduction for Long Beach to the Ball-Nogues Studio, but also a number of other great artists, many with a specific connection to this community. Don't miss this exhibit!

There's a link to the interview with Erin Harkey, co-curator of the exhibition, at the end of the story. In that interview she talks about some of the other participating artists.

Events such as these can only bring positive attention to Long Beach with benefits to the entire community. Well done!

The opening reception last night was great. I am so proud of the hard work and vision the Arts Council committed to this effort. The scale of the building allowed the artists to create large works, and all did a great job. This show runs through November 1st, with gallery hours Friday - Sunday from 2 - 6 PM. If you missed last night's opening, I sincerely recommend that you go.
