Gee, I don't recall that county wide mentally ill homeless will be bussed here. In Re: Destroying neighborhoods, I suppose you would like all of them to be in Districts 1 and 2.
Also did you not notice that there were 9 votes cast?

Low blows to the website that you read is pretty lame. The fact that Garci might have already started making stupid decisions doesnt and shouldnt refelct on the LBPOST. I will continue to read the POST whether or not I agree with what Garcia is doing

The vote to rescind the MHA site was a sham . . . it was just a show piece to let voters vent. Thee was no second to begin with - that's why they went to public comment BEFORE placing the motion on the table (how often have we seen them do THAT? - "point of order"?). A sham and waste of our time. They should have at least placed it on the table with a second before allowing that useless parade of divisive public comment. It was merely an obvious ploy to bolster one council member's chances in her re-election . . . good luck with that!

Is a week off without pay such a bad thing? It sounds like a much better option than some poor city saps losing their jobs.
And if city employees do need to be furloughed, I would much rather it be someone in City Planning than the Police and Fire personnel that help keep us safe.

One of Robert Garcia's first moves was to approve an ill advised plan, even the Councilperson who once supported it said so, to bus in mentally ill homeless from County wide locations into Long Beach. These mentally ill homeless include pedophiles that are now homeless. This was a vote for other places to send their problems to Long Beach for a bit of land that is not worth any of it. These mentally ill homeless pedophiles will migrate to the Downtown areas. If one read Josh Lowenthal's piece about homeless being an economic engine for the city, and one knows how tight Josh and Robert are, it is no surprise. It may be for many who voted for Robert, in that he will cause more of the same problems. His vote shows what a fraud Robert is for those who want better neighborhoods.

Shock & Awe, the Police and Fire Departments are exempt from the furlough. Were they not the first two unions to endorse Garcia? Apparently they spent their endorsement money well. This website is nothing more then Fox News, Garcia style.
