I love Pride Weekend. But keep in mind that Pride contributes next to nothing to the charities it is set up to help. This is a huge loss to gay and AIDS related causes in LB.

Great parade. Great event. Great Pride. But as one photo shows of confetti in the gutter, not everyone takes Pride in Long Beach. Rarely have I seen so much litter, and not a temporary trash recepticle or recycling bin to be found along the route. Parade goers were looking for places to put their trash, but found nothing and had no choice but to drop things into the gutter. Yes there were street sweepers following the parade, but they can't get it all. Next year please provide trash cans and recycling areas along the route. Scavanger teams got a lot of the recyclables, but!!!! I'm sure the Storm Drains are full of trash(I saw empty cases of plastic water bottles stuffed down into one storm drain). Can't confetti and the throwing out of advertising cards and flyers from the floats be banned in the future too, PLEASE. Then it can really be an event to take Pride in.

I hope you are archiving your photos, and giving them to ONE National Gay and Lesbian Archives. They are a snapshot of history. I especially like the photo of Lee Glaze, gay pioneer, in his wheelchair.

And here I thought West Hollywood was the pride capital.

Great. Just what we need. More political correct bullshhh, and those who try to force it down our throats.

Impressive pictures. When finally will LB also get CITIZEN PRIDE and dump the antique city charter's concept of government by oligarchy?
