The first time Poly and Cabrillo played, the Rabbits' boys' soccer team got their lone win of the season, 1-0.  Just two minutes into their rematch, this time on Poly's turf, it seemed it might be headed that way when Brett Busse put a left-foot volley on the back post. But Cabrillo rallied fast and furious, and got two of their own in the next twenty minutes, with a pressing, relentless offensive attack, finishing with a crucial 2-1 victory.  The first came on a nice piece of offense on a set play; Armando Padilla threw the ball in for the Jags, then Gabriel Borja headed it back towards the goal, where freshman Miguel Larios was there with the well-timed slide to knock in the equalizer.

Padilla scored the winner on a penalty kick in the 24th minute after he was taken down in the Poly box.

After that Cabrillo packed it in and did an effective job limiting the Poly chances.  "I was hoping we'd respond well [to their fast goal]," said Cabrillo coach Pat Noyes after the game.  "Now we've just to keep going, and try to pick up points in the rest of the season."  The Jags are now at 4-3-1. 

"Everything was pretty much decided in those first twenty minutes," said Poly coach Efren Garcia, whose team drops to 1-5-2 with almost all their losses this season coming by one goal.  "The whole first half was theirs, then in the second we tried to take it to them, but we couldn't break through."
