The Armada held an 8-4 lead in the top of the seventh at home on Saturday against rival Orange County, but that wasn't nearly enough. The Flyers scored once in the seventh and took the lead on a two-run single from Robert Fick that capped a five-run eighth.
The ten hits and seven runs given up by the bullpen ruined a good outing from Scott Lonergan, who went six-plus innings and only gave up seven hits.
Andy Bouchie and Omar Bramasco led the way offensive for the Fleet with a home run and two-run triple respectively. J.J. Sherrill also added a two-run double to extend the the Armada lead in the sixth before the Flyers' rally.
Both teams took a few moments before the game to support former Cal State Fullerton baseball player Jon Wilhite. The Manhattan Beach resident was the lone survivor of the April car crash that killed Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart.
The Armada will be at home again today at 5:05pm against O.C.
