It's hard to find a good basketball camp—so often the cost is too high, or the instruction value too high.  Kevin Ellis and the Los Angeles Clippers are hoping to change that with the Clippers Winter Break Clinic, being run out of Downey's Apollo Park but open to all SoCal kids.  We got an email from a dedicated Long Beach mom who says the camp's first session worked wonders for her daughter.

All instruction comes from quality coaches, and the camp aims to provide club-level instruction at rec-level prices.  It's $80 for the three-day session taking place December 28-30, from 9am-2:30pm, and players of both genders from ages 7-17 are welcome—if you're interested, more details and registration info can be found at www.thebasketballacademy.com.
