When you’re making your plans for this summer, be sure you’re not standing next to any bookcases or kitchen cabinets in North Long Beach on July 25th.  That’s when Jordan High School is hosting their Big Man Competition, to see which team of Big Men can call themselves the biggest, and of course, the baddest.

The event, which is free to attend and watch, will feature a number of events, including:

Harnessed semi-truck pull

Obstacle course

530 lb Tire Flip

2-man sled relay

Farmers Walk

NFL Agility Course

Big Man Weigh-In

Bench Press

5-man sled push

Super Yoke Walk

Tire Throw

˝ Mile Big Man Relay (110 yards each man)

And a tug-a-war finale that’s sure to set the ground a-rumbling.

Teams are welcomed to register—they’ll allow a maximum of twenty teams, and they’re already close to half of that.  The entrant fee is $200 for a team of ten players, with two alternates.

what an awesome idea. This a time for the big guys to shine. You can bet I'll be there, being the father of a former Bruin lineman. Who knows maybe even a few college coaches will show up with their scales, stop watches {or calenders,we are talking about linemen} and tape measures for this event

This is a great preseason tool for all linemen. This type of a competition can show the coaches and the linemen their weaknesses and strengths and professional Strongman from East Coast/West Strength is going to be there with his guys to demonstrate the techniques so no one gets hurt.
