Lakewood Aquatics is holding their annual Swim-a-Thon
fundraiser this Saturday, June 13th at Cerritos College from 8:00am
to 12:30pm. Swim-a-Thon is a USA Swimming sponsored event that allows the
team to keep 95% of the proceeds with 5% going back to USA Swimming. The
swimmers collect pledges per lap and then swim as many laps as possible in a
one hour time frame. Funds raised this year will go towards out-of–town
meets, equipment and swim clinics.
At Saturday’s event there will be bagels, fruit and coffee
available for purchase in the morning; BJ’s pizza, salads and drinks in the
afternoon. There will be raffles held for some amazing prize baskets
including iPods, a beach cruiser, restaurant gift certificates and more.
