The parodical son Lane Kiffin is returning to USC after head coaching jobs with the Oakland Raiders and Tennessee Volunteers.  The move comes less than two days after Pete Carroll officially left Southern Cal for the reigns (pun intended) in Seattle of their Seahawks.

By the way, Tennessee isn't taking it very well.  (CLICK HERE for video from You Been Blinded)

We told you yesterday that Lakewood quarterback Jesse Scroggins and defensive back Dion Bailey were going to wait and see what happened with USC (where both had verbally committed) before making any decisions about getting back on the preverbal recruiting road.

As we get closer to National Letter of Intent day in the beginning of February everyone will see what Kiffin can do to keep the Trojan recruits that Carroll and assistant coach Ken Norton Jr. worked to get.  As for the Lancers in question, the fit seems perfect.

Back in July, I went to the Moore League passing tournament at Poly between the Jackrabbits, Cabrillo Jaguars, Jordan Panthers, and Lakewood Lancers.  Scroggins had returned from Knoxville, Tennessee just days prior, so I asked him about the trip.  He said he really liked the campus and the program tradition.  He also said that Kiffin was very friendly, and very interested in getting Scroggins in orange.  So for the gunslinger QB from the Moore League, the gunslinging coach from a coaching family seems like a great fit.

As for Bailey, we can keep talking about that coaching family.  Lane will bring his father, Monty, one of the premier defensive coordinators of the last two decades.  If a talented safety wants to get to the National Football League, can you think of a better defensive mind and scheme to get you there?  If you have any questions, you can ask his Super Bowl ring.

So, just a day ago all the Cardinal & Gold colored balls were in the air.  Today, they seem to be back where they were in the first place.  But if this weekend taught us anything, it's that any rumor could be true, and anything is possible.

As we said yesterday, when we know more, so will you.  Make sure you come back to LBPOSTsports.com in February for all of the NLI coverage for all of the Moore League schools, just like we did last year.

Kiffin is a loose cannon and will only add to the misery about to take place when the NCAA hammers Heritage Hall.
