TONIGHT: Moore League Parade Of Champions

It�s been a long, successful year for Moore League athletes, with CIF championships, state titles, and a strong record in most high school sports.� This Friday, the annual Moore League Parade of Champions will honor these athletes, as vehicles carrying members of the Poly football team, the Millikan soccer team, Poly Millikan and Wilson track athletes, Poly girls� basketball, and more will parade down Pine and give Long Beach a chance to honk for greatness.

The parade will begin Friday at 6pm, and end at Smooth�s with a dinner for the athletes.

I am pleased to announce that my son Jeffrey Curran a junior at St. Anthony H.S --yes another great Long Beach tradition was named Santa Fe League MVP in baseball this season. He pitched a 5 inning no hitter against Cabrillo HS and also had a league leading 102 strikeouts and a .504+ batting average for the season. Why not speak to Brian Walsh our St. Anthony Athletic Director! You are missing out on some wonderful things that are happening in one of Long Beach's oldest high schools! Go Saints! It looks as though you have 1 more spot to fill on your sports page--why not include Long Beach Saint Anthony!

as i've posted several times, we're still waiting on someone from St. Anthony to call in their scores. we would love to include St. Anthony info, but we have two on-staff writers and ten schools total to cover!

Congrats to your son Ms Curran and to St Anthony on this great achievment! St Anthony has made great strides athletically in recent years. You have to give the folks at the Post a little slack. I know for a fact they have tried to contact Coach/AD Walsh several times for information and scores. As a sports parent myself and involved in other groups that support Long Beach sports, all you have to do is send the folks at the Post some information about whats going on or what might be on the schedule and they will do everything they can to report on it. Even sending in scores and information directly to them works good too. Good luck to the Saints and remember to keep supporting your son, St Anthony and the Post. Go Long Beach Sports!
